CEPHALIC CARNAGE Drummer To Judge First-Ever 'Blast Off' Competition

John Merryman of CEPHALIC CARNAGE, Eric Park of DEVOURMENT/HYPERION and Jason Parrott of SKINNED will judge the first-ever "Blast Off" drum competition on March 29, 2008 in Denver, Colorado.

Who can enter?

* Any metal drummer that can get to Denver for the event can enter. SickDrummer.com plans on doing future competiotions in other cities, Denver is just the first. The space and time is limited, so get your entry in fast!
* Depending on your level of experience, you will be placed in one of three possible divisions: 1. Entry Level - someone who is not in or may be in a local band, but has never shared a stage with a national act. 2. Mid Level - any player who has played in a band that opened for a National act. 3. Top Level - any player who has been in a national or international act.
* Each player will be given a total of eight minutes. your preparation and playing time is as you see fit, within the time limit
* You can play an original song, solo or cover a song
* The player will have the open option to wear an iPod or other earphone device
* You may bring your own bass pedals, sticks and seat

How do I register?

Go to SickDrummer.com, click on Blast Off information from the main page news alert and fill out the short form. Wait for your acceptance email. The organizers will let you know as soon as possible on the registration results. If there are too many entries, they will either move the venue or be forced to choose by lottery.
